General precautions for storage tanks

The Storage tank and tank farm have a lot of oil, which is dangerous and prone to fire and explosion accidents. It is necessary to establish a fire prevention and explosion prevention system according to relevant regulations, carry out regular fire patrol inspection, and strictly carry out fire safety management to ensure fire safety.
(1) Fire and explosion prevention of Storage tank and tank farm shall be in accordance with GB50183 and GB50074. Low expansion air foam fire extinguishing system shall comply with GB50151.
(2) The storage tank area should be kept clean, and there should be no hay, oil stains, or combustible materials inside the fire dike.
(3) The drainage system in the storage tank area should be equipped with water sealed wells; Drainage pipes should be equipped with valves outside the fire dike; When the oil tank is drained, a dedicated person should be assigned to monitor and promptly remove residual oil from the sealed well.
(4) Non explosion-proof electrical equipment and high-voltage overhead lines should not be installed in the storage tank area.
(5) The storage tank area should be equipped with a fire dike according to regulations, and the fire dike should be kept intact.
(6) The top of Storage tank shall be free of oil stain and ponding. Thermal insulation measures shall be taken for inlet and outlet pipelines and valves of Storage tank.
(7) The transparent hole, gauge hole cover and gasket on the top of the Storage tank shall be kept intact, and the hole cover shall be tightly covered. The oil measuring port should be equipped with a non sparking metal gasket.
(8) The breather valve and hydraulic safety valve bases on the Storage tank shall be equipped with flame arresters. Check the flame arrester at least once a season.
(9) The inlet and outlet oil pipelines of Storage tank shall be equipped with flexible hose compensator.
(10) The steel Storage tank body shall be equipped with lightning protection and anti-static grounding device, and the grounding resistance shall not be greater than 10 Ω. At least one grounding point should be set every 30m along the bottom edge of the tank, and there should be no less than two grounding points for a single tank.
(11) Every spring, a comprehensive inspection of lightning protection and anti-static grounding devices should be conducted, and the grounding resistance value should meet the requirements during testing.
(12) Two flexible copper wires with a cross-sectional area of not less than 25mm2 should be used to connect the floating vessel of the floating roof tank to the tank wall.
(13) The oil storage tank shall be operated in a safe position.
(14) When the oil level of the condensate is higher than the heating coil, it should be heated with a steam riser first, and then heated with a steam coil after the condensate dissolves.
(15) Chemical fiber clothing and shoes with iron nails should not be worn. Non explosion-proof flashlights should not be turned on or off at the top of the tank.
(16) Hot work and tank cleaning operations on oil pipelines in the storage tank area should comply with industry regulations.
(17) If the Storage tank is on fire, immediately report and stop all operations of the oil storage tank on fire. Organize fire extinguishing and initiate emergency plans in a timely manner.
